OMNIA 6EX HD+ FM VS DSP-EXTRA WITH ARIANE

Both processors have the latest version software including the omnia 6 which is v7.1.0 as it came back from Omnia all tweaked up at my request.i rotated both processors the omnia 6 the first 2 weeks and the dsp-extra the last 2 weeks of Jan 06.went thru all the settings from most to least aggressive.both processors sound awesome..the digital ariane in the dsp-extra really brought that box to market.it's sound is unbelievable as their ads claim..for better, more consistent AGC the nod will have to go to the dsp-xtra, since the ariane is world known for being the best preprocessor ever and many are used in front of the o6 and other processors, and there is nothing wrong with that as it allows you to really open up the box.the omnia 6 ,just a great processor with some hot factory presets in it.now the purpose of my shootout was to determine whether the dsp-extra could hold it's with the almost twice as expensive omnia 6.the answer is
YES .i was amazed at this offering from Broadcastwarehouse.on air, i can not tell one from the other. For EAR VALUE i would have to pick the dsp-extra because of it's price point being half the cost of the O6.hats off to Scott at Broadcastwarehouse and to frank at Omnia for building and bringing great processing to market.

Been running an Ariane Sequel here, prior to T1 stl, and through an '8400. The Ariane leveler is simply astounding. Expensive, but was worth every nickel. What a difference over our old standby levelling, the Aphex Compellor. (and numerous others I've tried out) All due respect to Aphex for a great product at a decent price, but maybe they need to think about some competition to the Ariane.

You should try the Sequel. Much more flexable and, with presets and all the conrtols up front, the Sequel can match any audio processor ahead of it and can be used from anything to audio production, uplinks right up to the airchain.

I dare say the Sequel translates well into the digital world (it is better than the original)
