Trying to do latest update.using crossover cable with HP laptop with vista ,firewall off.not sure of any known issue using vista.ethernet box is checked, ip 192.168.0.85 port 23.i know tomtom is the password for serial and i have tried all 3 0f the other level passwords,lower case.continue to get the cannot open port error.must be an oversight on my part,sure appreciate your input.
 
hate to answer my own post, but i think the last 3 of the IP should be 191.maybe Frank can chime in.after the udate will the o6 return to the present preset and will the trigger script remain or have to be redone.thanks...

You can use any IP address with Omnia. If you are "pointing" to the IP address in the unit, and have the correct password, you will be able to connect. If you are still having problems, please contact our Support Engineering Dept, and they will be happy to assist you.

The Level 3 password for serial connections is 'tomtom', but for IP connections it's 'engineer'. The actual IP address is irrelevant - it can be any number as long it's valid on your network (IOW, you can access it). Make sure the subnet mask is OK, too.

For serial connections, if you get port open error sometimes you have to reset your computer to get it back. It can get stuck open and you just have to restart your PC.
