Omnia.fm vs Omnia3fmt vs Unity 2000i

CHR station (80's 90's and Today)
Fairly openly processed market
3 Processing choices

*Omnia.fm (four band AGC low-mid-pres-high, four band limiter low-mid-pres-high)
*New O3fmt
*Unity 2000

Best processor for the Job?

I personally like the 3fmt and Unity's natural sound. Also like the gritty sound of the Omnia.fm. 3fmt, bit harsh on heavily limited material. Omnia.fm can sound a bit flat on some material. Competitors using Optimod 8300's but they're a bit 'mid-rangey' and I was surprised how well the 3fmt competes with the big optimods. Let me know your favourite. I can e-mail you some off-air audio examples if you like...just for fun!

I would be interested in hearing those samples :) Just out of curiosity. You can e-mail me at: goran.tomas at email.htnet.hr

Regarding your question, I never liked Unity so I would go with either Omnia.fm or Omnia-3fmt. Why not try each for a week and see which fits the bill better? You can then tweak that one further...

Goran Tomas

The Unity was an analog box with digital control! No DSP in the audio!

> CORRECT as i use to own one.did not mean to imply it was dsp, but as the code in the digital boxes got better it aged the older analog boxes capability.the omnia replacements were much louder with cleaner audio.but in defense of the unity, it was a good processor.hope this clears thing up.
