Omnia One Help

We have an Omnia One, which I love, and I'm not an engineer but know how to work my way through the settings to get what I'm looking for. We have a Classic Hits format and none of the presets really do the trick. They either cause listener fatique or are not competitive sounding and some take away the stereo effect more than others. I'm looking for anyone who wishes to share any settings info to make this format sound its best through Omnia One. Anything is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Check out Omnia's preset gallery on their website. These custom presets were developed by Cornelius Gould, one of Omnia's very talented developers, as well as other folks who know the Omnia architecture inside and out. I tried out quite a few of these when I was still in radio and they all created a unique sound that nobody else had. Try starting with CG Classic Rock, CG Big Rock or CG Mighty '80s.

Hi there!

Thanks for the reply,Whit!

Yes. We have quite a collection of presets on the website that tune the Omnia. One differently than the standard factory presets.

The Omnia. One has a remote interface that runs on any web browser with Java installed, and presets are easy to upload once you are logged in via the said remote interface.

Find a preset that gets you closest to what you want, and tweak from there. If you need help, Mark Manolio or Ted Alexander in our support Dept. both have great minds for Audio Processing, and they can help you take it to the next level if need be.

We run a classic hits format with an OmniaOne. Great processor, for the money.

After much experimentation, I found the stock "RockNRoll" preset to be the best starting point.
It's a fairly neutral setting that sounds good as is, and can be tweaked for compression or limiting to taste with
the XOVER AGC and Limiting OV Drives. The EQ is pretty well balanced as is. Depends on your chain of course.

Most of the other settings use too much gating and color the sound too much for Classic Hits.
Run your HPF at 40 for a more consistent bass response and use a little less gating on the wideband agc and limiters.

It works well for us.
