Omnia One Updates

For the Omnia One users.

Software Version 2.0 is available on their site for download. Depending on your current software config you'll have to install version 1.2, reboot, and then load 2.0.

There's a .pdf file that has the summary of changes (page 3).

Just remotely loaded our Omnia from home via our VPN (gotta love the web interface). Updated with no problems.

Just thought I'd pass it along..

Thanks for the info! I got the update loaded this afternoon. This was also my first time using the One's remote control interface. I must say it is very cool. Also now having the option to use the Ethernet port as an audio out could come in handy. Make sure to check out the new 2.0 manual if you get the update...it's got a lot more info than the 1.0 manual! Thanks Frank!

You're welcome. Actually the "Thanks" should go to Mark Manolio who did all the work updating the manual, as well as coordinating the update itself.

Thank you Mark!!

Frank:

I asked and was told the One would not do processing and streaming. Is this still correct or is this information in the software update only applicabloe to the people using this for streaming??

This would make a great option to make my barix a backup rather than the main.

Thanks Again for this great unit!

Omnia. One only does audiio processing. As of March, 2008, it can process for FM, AM, HD Radio (multicast), streaming, or any coded audio application. This update enables Livewire as another form of input/output. We are not planning to add any audio encoding to the product.

Frank, are you guys planning to introduce any new presets for the One sometime down the line?

Omnia. One FM is barely out a year. Upon evaluating feedback from the Support Dept will determine if we need to add further presets. Actually, the Support group usually compile presets they create from assisting others, or those that users are willing to share. You should contact Support from time to time for further info.
