Omnia processor preset swap zone.

call telos-omnia tomorrow with your current firm and software versions and they'll send you a new card, and invoice you for it, unless you return your old one. Mark Manolio is very helpful. good luck. newer versions contain the latest presets and they rock!

Hi Mr Gould,

I am wondering if you could give me some advice please,

We have just recently purchased a second hand Omnia FM6 but we think it is one of the very first original models with the first software.

What do we need to do to upgrade this to the latest possible software without having to take it out of service and send it off?

Thanks in advance

There are a number of updates if this truly is one of the first software / firmware versions.

Definitely call Mark Manolio 216.241.3343 to get the lowdown. The front panel software and motherboard firmware should be updated to the latest. As Sgeirk mentioned, the Omnia.6 algorithms have been tweaked and improved on a lot since the first version. WELL worth the time & effort to do the upgrade.

Allow some time to do the upgrade from so far back.

Don't let this particular upgrade process scare you away from any other upgrades we may provide in the future. All recent versions of Omnia software / firmware are MUCH easier to upgrade.

Excellent thanks ;)

I will call tomorrow, is this something we can do in an afternoon?

I understand there's 2 cards, an internal and the rear panel one, so I suppose these will both have to be sent off..

Yes,

It can be done in an afternoon. Right now (as you know) there are two cards. After the upgrades, there will be just one card (rear panel only), and the (internal) one on the front panel will no longer be necessary. You will get one card from Mark (along with specific instructions) and will be sending two back.

Plan to have a computer handy (a laptop will be fine), and an ethernet crossover cable (or ethernet switch) to connect the two together.

:)
