On-Air Changes At Rubber City Radio Group

I have been hearing Ryan Lang host middays as of right now on WONE. Craig Michaels was hosting in that slot until he left a few months ago. He was also PD for 97.5 and took over for John Stewart in that role and on-air slot. Of course, neither John nor Craig lasted long as PD.

Unless I missed it elsewhere, did not see any posts re: Rubber City letting go Operations Manager Jeff Lynn a couple weeks ago. Lynn replaced Sue Wilson who resigned from that position several years ago.

The Jeny107.3 disaster, firing several popular, veteran on air jocks for seemingly no good reason over the past year sealed his fate. He was said to be very unliked by most of the staff. That is a shame. Hope this big local cluster can right the ship. Decent local ownership is rare in radio today.

i could be wrong, but it seems like Rubber city has had alot of people changes lately. That can't be good

I am sure he had to check with HIS bosses before he got the OK to fire anyone. After 107.3, I don't think they'd trust him with anything major like that.

Wholesale changes generally aren’t made at the pd level. Changes that big are generally an owner/consultant decision with a local pd the fall guy.

The move to terminate him was made by ownership and local upper management. There are no consultants involved. Sooner or later the success or failure of a person’s decisions and judgements are weighed and conclusions made.
