I'll provide my own follow-up...

Jon Hammond (afternoons at 3 p.m. on KYCY/KYOUradio and all the time on the Internet at www.HammondCast.com) lets on that this could be something as benign as a website re-design. He's seen the beta and says it's great.

Maybe they're gonna prominently feature the A's -- who are responsible for the station actually showing up in Arbitron for the first time. ;)

Looks like an interesting concept for an AM signal with nothing better to do. KCBS is their big news machine, why not try something new with this? The website mentions nothing about the Oakland Athletics, but they don't stream A's games online.

CBS Radio has a seperate A's/KYCY website at http://www.1550kycy.com/

Certainly better IMO than something with all satellite-fed hosts and programs. Are the programs really submitted by podcasters and maybe others done by CBS or is it a fancy name for brokered?

Certainly would be nice for them to better explain the format.
