On The Verge Of A Breakdown

The time is now to suck it up. We aren’t victims, we are champions. I
love it when someone thinks they can come in and take what I’ve worked
hard to achieve. My sleeves are rolled up and the only thing I like more
than winning is fighting. Don’t invite me to a good time! It is not a
matter of hoping you are the same page, it’s a demand. Those who
don’t have the stomach for this will be weeded out rather quickly. We
cannot afford to allow those who hesitate or would prefer not to dirty
their hands to drag the rest of us down. Strap your armor on, we are
going to war. And as a famous General once said, “Either the plan gets
executed, or the soldiers do”.

Speaking of music, Power is a Hip-Hop station that represents not only
the music, but the culture and lifestyle. The new station does none of
this. Fergie, JT and the other crossover pop acts drive away Hip-Hop
fans as we’ve seen throughout our history. Couple that with a logo
straight out of 1992, and words like “Blazin’” and “Jamz” and
the last thing they are is Hip-Hop.

Wow!! It sounds like someone is really taking the 101.5 JamZ format flip a little too personal. It looks as though what CBS radio GM Mark Waters set out to do with JamZ (put Power out of business) is upsetting a few people over there.

This is the most hilarious post ever. Who cares is right. Al Sharpton says hip hop culture needs to be changed. Jesse Jackson says some hip hop music is degrading and bad for the culture. The hip hop ratings are being replaced with spanish and R&B stations. The advertiser is very small that uses the format. If this is a ego decision then it is doomed!!! If the Phoenix market is asking for more hip hop music because there is a need for another station then it is a different story. I DOUBT IT!!! Remember KZZP, Y95 and KKFR fighting and playing the same music and sharing the same ratings and revenue. NO ONE WON, they just existed. The ego is a bad way to program or manage. Power 92 was created because KZZP 104.7 had sent a letter to corporate to become POWER 104. KKFR pd heard about it and the rest is history, KKFR became POWER 92 in less than a half hour. No dj or manager is going to duplicate the early success POWER 92 had. There was a HUGE group of people that had a passion to kick off the format. The passion has been replaced for jobs. Ego management, I think CBS will catch on to it and no amount of butt kissing will will keep that management in place.
