On This Day in 1983

Back in the late 1970s I heard a story about someone either TV News photographer or maybe a fan actually had on film KISS without their makeup. The story goes on to say that when Gene Simmons ( or Ace or Paul or Peter, depending on who tells the story ) saw that someone was filming them without the make-up, he smashed the camera, busted the guy in the mouth and someone from KISS licked up the blood.

The things kids heard at school back in the 70s.

CREEM magazine DID take non-makeup photos of KISS early in the band's existence. They were duped into thinking the magazine had Bill Aucoin's permission to do so.
