On WLNG's 48th Anniversary - WLNG on its 8th Anniversary.

‎40 years ago, Paul Sidney on-the-air talking about the success of WLNG AM & FM on their 8th anniversary. In 1971 Paul Sidney started to grab the programming reins and mold WLNG to what it is today. This aircheck features the pre-reverb, pre-Pams jingles sound of WLNG but delivers 100% Paul Sidney! HAPPY 48th Anniversary WLNG!

I like WLNG. My dad (may he rest in peace) called it the most hokey radio station he ever heard. He never heard of it until a few years ago when he was playing with the radio in his newly bought used car and he picked it up. His comment to me was "What kind of hokey FM radio station runs a Swap Shop show on a Weekday Morning and using that cheesy sounding echo-effect."

I told him it may sound hokey and cheesy to you, but everyone on the East End of Long Island listens to it.

Keep in mind we live(d) in Southington, Connecticut 15 miles or so Southwest of Hartford.
