I live in the WSUS listening area so I will keep folks posted.
As far as the Christmas format goes, WSUS has been flip flopping the past few years. Last year, WSUS played all Christmas music on weekends (starting the weekend before Thanksgiving) and had regular programming with a few Christmas songs each hour during the week. Two years ago, WSUS started mixing in holiday music Thanksgiving Weekend (but they started on Wednesday, this year they didn't start until Friday).
I heard a DJ on the air saying they will be doing the annual "12 Days of Christmas" which of course begins on December 13th. I believe this tradition began 2 or 3 years ago and I like how WSUS does it. They add songs in and build up.
The thing with WSUS is, it is a very small market with virtually no competition (unless you include some AC stations that come in from the Hudson Valley) and I guess the Program Director (Vince "Thomas") makes all the decisions and CC doesn't care since there is no direct competition. It is obviously different in the big city markets. I think Clear Channel makes the decisons of when to go all Christmas, not the PDs, in the larger markets.
For Delilah, so far regular programming. Who knows if they will run the Christmas feed. I guess we'll find out.
