One format missing

Theres one format missing in San antonio -- Dance I know I said it before but wish someone could launch a dance station again, all the other formats are good, I like the new mixshow on mix it acually sounded better than the beats. Wonder if Cox would re launch 1067 jamz on HD2?

Dance does need to come back in SA.

They're also missing mainstream alternative rock like KROX/Austin, KTBZ/Houston, and KDGE/Dallas.<P ID="signature">______________

I know Mix 96.1 was working on a mixshow but did they finally get it going if so when are they mixing?

As for a Dance format-I was hoping that BMP Radio would have launch a dance format or a Chr/Dance friendly format but now I have doubt anything like that will happen. BMP Radio currently has a lot talent working for them but they don't seem to be utilizing their talent.

Hey Jason,

As you probably well know, the dance format has never done too well anywhere it has been tried. I think that every dance station I have been aware of in this country has failed not long after it was started. Not too sure why. I guess there just isn't enough population who wants to listen to it ALL THE TIME. Now, i wouldn't mind hearing some dance music on Top 40 stations once in a while. That is probably as close as you will get to a "dance" station.

When Jamz was on the air it was in the Top 10 with 18-34 demos. And it wasn't just Jamz playing dance. KTFM and Mix 96.1 were also playing a good amount. At that time Jamz, KTFM, Mix 96.1 and The Beat all had mix shows on the weekend. It was awesome!!

I agree with the above. We are also missing a contemporary jazz, a true urban/r&b and classic country. The dance shows would be cool if they played breakdance or 80s and industrial/techno/goth trance stuff. Or if Jammin 94.1 would quit playing cheesy aerobics music and play some real disco/funk/old school dance mixshows. Other than that, I could care less about the dance music today or whatever is playing on Mix or Z. BTW, KSYM 90.1 has a dance mixshow of techno/trance music i believe on friday nights (because other nights they usually play punk and thrash metal)
