one half of the current Ring Of Honor Wrestling World Tag Team Champion Jay Briscoe killed in car accident at 38.

Tragedy stuck the wrestling world Tuesday night as one half of the Ring Of Honor Wrestling Jay Briscoe (part of a tag team with other brother Mark Briscoe) was killed in a car accident in his hometown of Laurel, DE. The news was first broke by current Ring Of Honor owner and All Elite Wrestling co-owner Tony Khan on twitter, the news immediately broke and the wrestling world quickly began to react to the sudden and tragic news by expressing their sadness, condolences and remembering the man who had a lasting legacy as a Tag Team champ in ROH.

The Briscoes won the Tag Team Titles in ROH for a 13th time at ROH Final Battle in Arlington, Texas on December 10, 2022, beating FTR (the team of Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler, formerly known as The Revival in the WWE where they wrestled as Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) in a violent, brutal and bloody double dog collar match, at this time, the ROH World Tag Team titles are now consider unofficially vacated under this tragic reason.

Jay Briscoe was 38 years old, he was survived by his family including his tag team partner, his brother Mark.

Absolutely shocking-I've met the Briscoes at a show in Lewiston, Maine, and they were the exact opposite of their wrestling personas-very nice guys. In fact, the first ROH show we went to, we were sitting next to their parents, and their mother went nuts every time they took a bump. When I told them that, they thought it was hilarious.
Rest in Peace, Jay. Unfortunately, we'll never get to see The Briscoes in WWE or AEW, but that amazing series with FTR will live on.
