One new AM station, another back on the air

Per the FCC's AM Query, there is a CP for a station licensed to Stanfield on 1460, running 2 kW day and night with a direcitonal pattern mostly NE and SW during the day, and just SW at night. The transmitter is just north of Casa Grande (the old KWLL site?). No callsign in the database, but it might have just been assigned in the last few days. There was no ID during my listening time.

They were on this morning playing some kind of Mexican music with no announcer. They were strong in the 'Tuke but faded as I went north of Baseline. With that pattern, this is no surprise.

The returned station is The Blaze, unofficially KASC, now on 1330. Pretty much the same signal levels as they had on 1260.

1460 Stanfield is listed as owned by Nelson Multimedia, which formerly
owned KGVY 1080 Green Valley (1 kw-D) prior to its sale to KGVY, LLC
in 2007.

As for "KASC" on 1330--will KJLL 1330 South Tucson ( 2 kw-D, 5 kw-N,
DA-N) have anything to say about a "squatter" on its frequency?

Anyone know when 13~Ten returns from the Mesa cemetery? Believe it or not, the KXAM website is still active: http://kxam.com/ Nurse Czarina Jeff and I sure do miss those fascinating Matt Gerson person to person interviews!

Akbar, you made coffee come out my nose with the Matt Gerson jibe. Listen, I ain't Charlie Rose, but I am God as an on-air interviewer compared to Gerson. I have rarely experienced anything on radio that screamed "bush league" as much as his interviews and his movie reviews, in which he never met a run-on sentence he didn't like.

I guess you can now count out the EVOO Radio Network ever
getting airtime on Embee Broadcasting!

Oh wait, there is no more Embee Broadcasting. <grin>

Scott, did Chuck ever reveal to you any secrets about the lamptimer?

Dr. Akbar,

Look again, it's not still active. that's a place holder.

On that page:
kxam.com expired on 09/29/2009 and is pending renewal or deletion.

I miss Matt Gerson asking stupid questions of the candidates from the presidential election 12 years ago endlessly replayed!

Nepotism, thy name is Matt. Wonder what Matt is doing now? His parents probably bought him a bunch of jigsaw puzzles and keep him in the basement....

I've asked Nurse Czarina Jeff to check our Buckeye Media Hut student roster for anyone with the last name of Gerson. Nothing so far, but we do have someone registered by the name of Doofus.....hmmmmm, better check to see if he has parents in Michigan!

I've never been able to hear KJLL anywhere in the Tempe/Ahwatukee area, so I doubt that there is any mutual interference. But if they do complain, 1310 is available for the time being. :-D
