Davidson Buys WCVG/Cincinnati
DAVIDSON MEDIA GROUP is buying in CINCINNATI with the purchase of Classic Country WCVG-A/COVINGTON, KY from DICK PLESSINGER for $1.9 million. JOHN PIERCE of JOHN PIERCE AND CO. served as exclusive broker for the deal.

WCVG is a 500 watt/430 watt station on 1320. It went on the air in 1965 as WCLU, "Big CLU Country." It was Top 40 from 1981 to 1987, and was a variety of formats including "All Elvis" between 1987 and 1993 when it went Gospel. It remained Gospel until April of this year, when that LMA collapsed. It's been doing Classic Country since then. I've heard the LMA starts within days.
