One year after John Roland left WNYW/5

Veteran news anchor John Roland, who anchored WNEW's newscasts for 35 years, has been retired for one year as of tonight. While WNEW (WNYW) moved to a tabloid format under FOX ownership while Roland was still there, I (as someone who doesn't get the opportunity to see NYC local television very often) wonder: has FOX 5 News changed for the worse with Roland gone? Did Roland bring much sanity to the organization?
