Listening to the Atlantic MWDX node right now and getting a match on 1700 with my local XEPE :)  Heard a Mexican-targeted ad too, but hadn't gotten around to starting Audacity recording yet.
There is a little bit of co-channel too, apparent by the rhythmic fading of the carrier... actually 2 different fade speeds, indicating 3 (if not more) stations on the frequency.

Atlantic DX tonight around 0400Z yielded the following for me:
WFAN (poor), WBBM (poor) but listenable, WMVP (fair), KDKA (fair), WBZ (fair), WTAM (good), Something on 1150, couldn't ID--maybe WHBY? WWKB very good & in clear.

0440-0540 tonight

590 VOCM poor with C&W, lots of splatter. 0443 UTC.
600 CBNA extremely poor with burbles of EE talk, lots of splatter. 0443 UTC.

700 WLW Cincinnati fair with call-in talk. 0449 UTC.
740 CFZM Toronto, ON fair with 1950s music, 0449 UTC.
750 CBGY Bonavista Bay, NF poor-fair with CBC programming at 0450 UTC.

780 WBBM Chicago fair-good with all news and more Sandy coverage at 0452 UTC.
830 WCRN Worcester, MA, very poor with what sounded like a "True Talk 830" jingle at 0455 UTC.
860 CJBC Toronto, ON fair with French talk 0456 UTC.
880 WCBS New York, good with Brooklyn ads. 0457 UTC.
920 CKNX Wingham, ON match to Dwight Yoakam's Fast as You. 0458 UTC, very poor.
930 CFBC St. John, NB with oldies, 0458 UTC.
930 CJYQ Newfoundland immediately under with Newfoundland style music at 0459.
950 CKNB Campbellton, NB nice signal with Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis" at 0500 UTC.
950 UNID with Fox TOH News, WIBX-NY? 0502 UTC.
970 UNID TOH News. Wonder if I had WNYM? 0502 UTC.

Nice Log crainbebo -

Guys, some tips for DXing from my receiver. In Europe we have 9kHz channel spacing which when combined with
a 10kHz channel produces a hetrodyne. The best way to get clear channel reception is to tune the sidebands.
Also when using the sidebands, make use of the IF shift control.

Some examples of how to tune the common Canadians:
540 LSB CBT
590 USB VOCM
620 LSB
640 USB
710 LSB CKVO
740 USB
750 USB
1140 LSB CBI
1350 AM CKAD
1400 AM
1490 AM
Common East Coasters:
770 LSB WABC
1130 AM WBBR
1490 LSB WEGP
1500 LSB WFED
1510 LSB WUFC
1520 LSB WWKB

I hope this will make your visit to Atlantic MWDX a bit more enjoyable (with less whines and splatter)..

Regards
Alan (oldtimer)

Question.....

Lately I have not been able to monitor Global Tuners, due to me having Firefox; posts were saying to download Google Chrome.

Has the FF problem been fixed yet?

I cannot use Firefox either for Global Tuners. I have been using Internet Explorer, which I don't like, but need to use for GT.

Firefox was fine for me last night.  Haven't yet had a chance to check today, though.

So what's the farthest west station you guys have heard on the Atlantic MWDX globaltuners node?
Mine so far is 1700 XEPE Tecate/Tijuana, Baja Cali Norte / San Diego, CA area, heard a few nights ago at TOH at around the node's local sunrise time, or about midnight here locally in the San Diego area.  Heard a couple Mexican political PSA announcements and matched audio locally from ~15.6 mi NNE of their TX on my Tecsun PL-398mp (on which it indicates about 49 dBμ).  Couldn't hear the legal TOH ID, though, thanks to the lady softly flying through it en español (understood it perfectly on the local radio though), but I did hear the lead-in to the ESPN Radio Sportscenter update.

Now, it's WHO 1040 Des Moines, IA. Heard them a few nights ago.

The farthest I have heard is either WHO or WWL. I don't think any of us can beat XEPE, although maybe we can catch it.
The operator of Atlantic DX has heard KNX.

@cd637299 /radioman148
I'm guessing you're on a version of Firefox ≧ 4. I've had no problem using Firefox 3.6.28 with FLash 9 (yes, I'm old) with GT*. Firefox ≧ 4, predictably, craps out almost instantly for me**. I wouldn't use or trust G Chrome or Internet Exploiter for anything (not that I could, anyways.)

Try it and see: http://download.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/3.6.28/win32/en-GB/Firefox Setup 3.6.28.exe. And if it still doesn't work, chances are your FLash may be corrupted.....

[size=8pt]_____________________________________
* No computer configuration or network connection is typical; individual results may vary.
** Tested with Firefox 14 and FLash 9 using default settings on Debian Linux 5.0.8.

Thank you. My PC should be back tomorrow and I will try to remind the person about this.

I was using ff 15 or 16 and flash 11 or 12, iirc, and had no problems last night, on, iirc, the beta xdr interface (under the more options link, iirc). Didn't get a chance 2 try this afternoon due to other tasks that got in the way.

As for beating XEPE... who's gonna be the first to catch, say, New Zealand on this node? Or what about Japan, N/S Korea, China, Thailand, India, etc. via long path?

1521 China was already caught, and same with 1089 in India...

Crainbebo, I tried about an hour earlier than you last night & conditions for me were worse. I always check WBBR first since that is my indicator as to how the band is. I could hardly hear it. Just about everything else I tried yielded Europeans. I didn't stay with it long. Must have been auroral.
Hopefully next time will be better.
