Trying listening away from the common US/CAN stuff and dig deeper for the REAL DX, "it's out there" !!

I picked up WILS 1320 Lansing, MI with 1900 watts one time. So the real DX is out there!!

That sure didn't take long--at 0440GMT I heard KOMO well for about 2 minutes before it got lost in the QRM. "KOMO newstime 8:40"
Now I don't have to worry about staying up until 3AM CST "YAWN!"

It was interesting because when I tuned in none of the east coast stations were there. I thought I was hearing WMVP on 1000, but it wasn't matching the audio on my radio. I didn't think I'd have a chance to hear KOMO that early, but there it was.

Hi guys,

You will have noticed that the Transatlantic MWDX node has been missing for a few weeks.
I have moved it to a new site called Remote Hams - http://beta.remotehams.com/
Log in and look for GI0OTC in the list, select antenna 2 and you will be back in business again.
Even better download and install the client software.

I have been unable to check out *any* tuners on GT, and I was told that I needed Adobe Flash. I have had issues downloading Adobe.

Alan,

I created an account, but I can't get any sound. I've tried this on 2 different computers. I even tried downloading the software, but my Norton antivirus won't let me install it & removes it from my computer. Norton tells me there is some kind of threat.
Never had a problem on Global Tuners.

Could you try it again please. Remember to turn radio on first (allow a few seconds), then off again before you log out.
Select Antenna2 for MWDX..

Log in and look for GI0OTC in the list, select antenna 2 and you will be back in business again.

At least for us Mac users it looks like an additional player like VLC or Flip Player is required to hear the audio. Either way works well for me.

Well I was finally able to log on, but what I don't understand is why everytime I log in I have to create a new password.
For some reason my old one doesn't work after I sign out.

Finally got it all straightened out. Logged in and successfully bagged some decent DX tonight.
WBBM, WLS, & WMVP all good especially WBBM. CFTR strong. Will go for more exotic stuff soon now that I have this new URL set.

PS: Where is the PWR button on the receiver?

The PWR button is in the upper right corner of the receiver.
Alan, were you using the Kenwood on GT? It might be my imagination, but the sound seems better now.

I hope the audio is better, different radio with better streaming, using TS870 now, shitty ICOM PCR1000 on GT !!
Glad some of you have been able to log on the RemoteHams, it has a nice interface if you download the client
software, however it should also work via the browser.

Let me have some more feedback on your experiences.

HI,

Receiver is online, and has been. I cannot answer why you are not seeing the PWR button (it is there)
and lots of users are getting online. Can I suggest you bypass any browser issues and download the Client
software. It works extremely well.

I also was listening to 1000 tonight on Alan's receiver trying again to see if I could hear KOMO. I did hear WMVP and another station playing dance music, but I couldn't ID. I wonder if Alan has an idea of what we're hearing on AM1000 playing dance music? This was around 0700GMT.
