Online radio listening posts..

SDRs are fun. I've picked up KOMO 1000 Seattle in Norway and Hawaii (and I used to think KIRO had the best AM signal in Seattle!) WSM. CFZM, WBBR and WLW cover nearly half of North America (WBBR and WINS could be heard in The Netherlands.) While full lower 48 coverage is impossible today, if these signals were anything I heard, it was definitely possible many decades ago (and a 500,000 watt WLW in the 1930s too? Holy cow!)

Can't wait for the Arctic SDR to come back online. Actually I should say when they connect their antennas to the receivers since they never went offline. I think that usually happens at the end of August.

I have been spending more time on the Key West and Bonaire SDRs lately. In the case of Key West it's all Cubans all the time, while the Bonaire SDR provides nice reception of stations from Colombia and Venezuela.

The last time I used the Key West receiver was a few winters ago and even then Cuba dominated.

Those two are also a couple of my favorites. I'm especially pleased with the Bonaire rig. When it first came on, IIRC, you couldn't hear much on the AM broadcast bband. That's certainly no longer the case.

Bonaire has to attenuate its on 800 but still a great rig. It, as well as Key West's SDR is operated by Trans World Radio, presumably so engineers can monitor the signal. Bonaire reminds me of listening to Tropical bands shortwave. There has been a Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic SDR, I think also TWR's.

Westerly, there is Weiser ID, Sammamich, Washington and Victoria BC for starters.

The Weiser, ID SDR is excellent during winter for NDB DX. I have heard about 150 NDBs on that receiver I believe, but of course many NDBs are going off the air every year.
