hi...just wanted to let everyone know that 97 rock, 103.3 edge and 104.1 whtt are now streaming live on the net....this is not the first time for them streaming....as they were pulled off in 2002 by yahoo broadcating website.

Jumping Into the Stream

It took some doing, but I finally got the stream to work.

You have to sign up using your (an) e-mail address. You can opt out from (obvious) junk mail during the process. I couldn't get it to work from the original link, and ended up at eonstreams.com. I had to click on the Citadel logo and open a new player before I could get anything other than endless buffering.

The music quality is decent on a high-speed connection. There are virtually NO COMMERCIALS, except for visuals on the player. You can even purchase music directly from the player.

I did find one interesting thing. If you click on the "Change Stations" button, you get a list of station categories:

Rock/Alternative
Rock Top 40
Adult Alternative
Rock Hip Hop
Classic Rock
R & B
Classic Hits
Dance
Sports Talk
Adult Hits
News / Talk
Soft Hits
Oldies
Country
Gospel
Classic Country
Contemporary Spanish

97-Rock is under Classic Rock. The Edge is under Rock/Alternative.

If you're looking for WHTT - which isn't your father's oldies anymore - what category would you look under? Classic Hits? Oldies? Adult Hits?

To quote the late Don Adams...

"Would you believe Soft Hits?"

Is Steppenwolf a "Soft Hit"?

Do Harv Moore, Bill Lacy, Jim Pastrick, and Joe Siragusa want to be associated with the term "Soft"? "Classic", maybe, but "Soft"?

Re: Jumping Into the Stream

go to

www.thesteamcentre.com

Then go to location and then it will give you links to the stream...it will be played through windows media player and you can save the links in the playlist.

Very Cool Site!

It's a very cool site, and makes listening to the stream a lot easier. Your URL is incorrect, however. It should be thestreamcenter.com. You missed the "r" in "stream".

BTW, either "thestreamcentre.com" or "thestreamcenter.com" work. Nice of them to accommodate Yankee spelling conventions.

Scroll down, and you can sort the stations by any column listed (Name, Call Letters, City, State, Format, or Stream).

All of Citadel's 850 +stations are streaming.

Re: Jumping Into the Stream

That link is dead.. You must use eonstream but it cuts off. Clear Channel dumped eonstreams because they cut off too. I wrote Citadel & told them about the problem. I'd prefer Citadel use plain Windows Media Player or http://www.warpradio.com.

The most important thing is we're there, people find us and listen. We'd prefer "Greatest Hits" but as long as listeners get the call letters and frequency right (and put pen to paper), we're happy. :)

Thanks for the listen.

Jim Pastrick ...and the read.

unfortunately that file format Citadel and Clear Channel doesn't work in Windows Media Player.

Streamcenter.com works with Media Player

97-Rock, WHTT, and The Edge work with Streamcenter.com via Windows Media Player. You don't need to install the eonstreams.com player. I haven't checked all the links, but all the ones I've tried on streamcenter.com work fine.

I tried WHTT and it said "wrong file type". You don't install eonstreams player.

WHTT Worked For Me

I don't know what's wrong with your computer, but I just clicked on the direct WHTT link via that website (thestreamcenter.com) and it works without any problems with a direct WMP feed. I'm listening to WHTT right now.

No player. No install needed. No codec download, even. I also have no problem with any other direct eonstreams URL (all the Clear Channel stations here use it, at least the ones that stream).

Re: Streamcenter.com works with Media Player

I noticed with some pop up blockers and anti virus programs that the web players don't work properly..for example with streamaudio.com...when you use it with netscape..it works and with ie it does not work on some stations.

I stay away from the web players.

Thanks for the info!! Now if only S&R would offer their shows on a podcast d/l I would be a happy guy!!

I wish KDKB, KUPD and KSLX from PHX would stream online.....they are in the dark ages....

My computer is 6 months old so thats not the problem. I don't have problem with any Clear Channels stations around the country. I use Firefox.

Well, you're the only one on this thread complaining of not being able to hear the WHTT streaming via that link, so I'm not sure what's going on here. I also use Firefox, and also have no problem with the Clear Channel feeds.

Re: WHTT Worked For Me

Yes...It works for me also......but

What is the difference between the "broadcast" HTT and the streaming "HTT".

Streaming vs. On-air

> What is the difference between the "broadcast" HTT and the

First thing I noticed was the quality is OK, but not as good as over-the-air.

Second thing I noticed was NO COMMERCIALS. They're filling the commercial breaks with non-descript instrumental background music. It's too bad they can't figure out how to get an extra song or two in there instead.
