What is this, block programming dedicated to the LOVESICK?!? :'( :-[ :-* :-\???

Toss in a little "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (from "Play Misty For Me,") "I Love You Too Much to Ever Start Liking You," "My Girl Bill," "If You Leave Me Now," "Love Hurts," etc.

HA! Those last two also played this afternoon. ;D One of them I picked for back-timing the news. :)

Man, throw in some Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Stylistics, Carpenters... and oh, Baby, I'm-a Want You by Bread... and you have a stop set. Good on ya'. ;)

VDV... Why don't I just turn the music stuff over to you and Mike? ;)

Sweet... I've been trying to get back in the playlist business. I'll send over my royalty fees and contract.

SURE!! Count us in!! We'll force the good Doctor into an even earlier retirement. First up: "Earache My Eye." Then, "The *itch is Back," and the extended version of Donna Summer's "Love to Love You Baby."

Traffic reports will begin with KZEW's "Damn this traffic jam" song. Strippers will become jocks. Blake's sounders will have soundbites from "Devil in Miss Jones" and Richard Pryor routines inserted. Jessie Colter albums will be burned. ;D

Toss in some Blind Melon Chitlin's "Goin Downtown Gonna See My Girl." After the required listening of "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty, of course.
Now that really rocks...

I beleive what will really bring attention to KEOM, will be the tracking of the Harry Niilson CD "Niilson Schmiilson"
The Tracksparticularly "You're breaking my heart"."and"Take54".The Good Doctor would certainly retire.

Nahhhh,,, Those two are nothing compared to Black Betty by Ram Jam and The Rapper by Jaggerz. ;D Also, ya gotsta throw in Bad Girls from Donna Summer, as icing on the cake. ;)

toot toot, hey, beep beep!

I was also pondering "Dukey Stick" by George Duke, and maybe some Zappa--"Don't Eat Yellow Snow" (or however it went.) And if you can bend a little into 1980, "Kiss Kiss Kiss" by Yoko Ono is in order as well.

Donnie Iris had an ear for great music..."The Rapper" is pretty incredible in stereo (my old 45 of it from '70 was in MONO. Found the stereo version a few years back.) His later "Ah! Leah!" is one of my all-time faves. In fact, it's in the car's CD changer right now.

Oh yeah, and include the full, unedited version of "Fight the Power" by the Isleys. I can hear Dr. G now: "Did thayat mayan jes saay "bull sh!!!!t?"

Well one thing is for sure. If I played some of these songs you guys are throwing at me, I'd be out of work pretty quickly! :(

On a side note, I need to put together a montoge of songs with reference to change. Dust In the Wind from Kansas (Nothing lasts forever..), Cool Change by the LRB, etc etc etc

Shall we start a list? ;)

Or like I did back in the 70s jocking (and didnt even plan it!!)...The MD and I were reviewing one of my airchecks...and out of "The Bitch is Back" (Hey thats the NAME of the song..so is a female dog!), I went into reading a PSA about help for unwed teen mothers (REALLY it was next in the liner cards!!).....The MD looked at me and laughed and said "Real good, if you are one and need help, here's where to call"......I turned three shades of red and realized what I had done (like I said this was back in the 70s...we werent allowed to say the name of the song...just that it was Elton John)..

Yep couldn't say "Tush" either by ZZ Topp. Another song: Yes_"Changes" You could also play the Who's "Who are you" unedited like you do now BTW. :)

So... you are now open to requests?! A few posts earlier, I sensed some hesitation there. BUT since you asked, here are some stretches for the list:

1. Bridge Over Troubled Water - S & G (A lil' esoteric for change, but it works)
2. Seasons in the Sun - Terry Jacks
3. Neither One of Us - Gladys Knight and the Pips (It's about saying goodbye, come on)
4. Peaceful, Easy Feeling - Eagles (Any time a woman can affect your soul, it's usually because of a change)
5. She's Gone - H & O (She's gone... come on, that's change)
6. The Thrill is Gone - B.B. King (Another gone reference)

Honorable stretch mentions

1. Hitchin' a Ride - Vanity Fare (If you are hitching, something happened to your first ride, now stranded on the highway) ;D
2. Tubular Bells (for the movie that changed horror flicks... thanks, my royalty check is being couriered to Mesquite).

Changes....Sequence(Angie Stone's old group).

Change in the Weather - John Fogerty (or some variation of CCR)

Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd ("...Lord knows I can't CHANGE...")

One day, I might find where I packed away my Joel Whitburn books. :-\
