Oops! CNN Airs Anchor's Girltalk Over Bush Speech

i heard that too during the news conference!

some things include: "she's a freak" and "she has three kids" or something like that.

Wonder if her anchorness will go home tonight and think it's funny she made a complete fool out of herself. Perhaps she'll demand extra "talent" pay for putting in additional air time.

She forgot the lesson in anchor school when was said, "This, future stars, is a microphone. It is clipped to you and picks up what you say." They could have clipped it to her upper and lower lips.

Funny,
I always thought the rule was "assume the microphone is always open."
In any case, this journalist just made a mistake, we don't need to be childish about this.

True, but it's one that the CNN Control Room Ops had plenty of time to catch and correct though.

Any way you look at it, it was completely unprofessional on CNN's part BUT has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the so-called "Liberal Bias" that NewsBusters is portraying this incident to being a part of. They're so hard up for proof of a "Liberal" bias in the media that they'll call just about ANY little nit-picking petty little thing a piece of evidence demonstrating a "Liberal" bias in the media.

Just my blunt (And admittedly Liberal) opinion...

Cheers :)

Not "childish," just realistic. Let us not wax too philosophic about it. Open mics thought to be closed have killed the career of quite a few people, just not as many of them as supposedly "unloaded" guns.

True that the control ops had ample time to catch it and clip the mic. Anyome want to bet they were saying something like,l "Nah, let her hang herself"?

Why was her mic on in the first place and should action be taken on Kyra or not? This Video has gotten very popular that it is now up on www.youtube.com

I saw this as it happened. At first i heard the other woman who had an echo-y sound so I at first thought it was someone making a stand against Bush at his speech. But then Kyra came in. One thing I remember (and i havent watched it since) was her going " yeah, he's married, three kids, but his wife is a control FREAK."

Her mic was probably on so she could do one of those little updates during the speech (which she did get to). You know, "You're looking LIVE at President bush in Louisiana blah blah blah." I dont think anything should happen to her. One main point is that she didnt say anything not sayable on tv, so shes fine. Surprising, since we've heard BALLOONS get people worked up before on CNN. Just a simple accident where millions of Americans were let in on her conversation. It'll blow over.

Shades of NAKED GUN:
Frank Drebin introduces the mayor (or was it the police commish) but forgets to take his wireless mic
off. He goes to the john and can be heard peeing, grunting, and passing gas--and it's transmitted
to the horrified listeners in the other room!

This is more of the persecution complex some people are still trying to get us to buy, despite their party controlling everything in DC. There are so many victims on these blogs they have enough for a Lifetime movie.

This is no more credible than the conspiracy theory about the flash of the X over Dick Cheney. And Kyra is no friend of Democrats. Nancy Pelosi ripped her a new one months ago when Kyra was reading GOP talking points as questions.

The only thing this incident succeeded in doing is making a presidential speech interesting.

Kyra on Letterman tonight

The CNN anchor is going to read the Top Ten List on The Late Show With David Letterman tonight on CBS. Show starts at 11:35 PM EDT/10:35 PM CDT.

True, but this is just yet another one of the many flubs that CNN seems to get themselves caught up in, some of which seem to make the news (More so than any of the other cable news outlets including sister networks Headline News and CNN International). Look at the number of times they've been "Sterned" by prank callers claiming to be an eyewitness to something or (As was the case of John Mark Karr), someone claiming that they knew him.

Can anyone (besides me) spell T-R-E-N-D here?

Just another blunt opinion...

Cheers :)
