Openings Anyone?

Does anyone know which station has any on-air openings in
Dallas-Fort Worth? I've been trying to get an on-air
gig ever since The Doghouse was terminated from KYLD in
April 2005 and am now taking radio classes at Ohlone College in
Fremont. If you know of any, PLEASE let me know. THANKS! :) :) :) :)

How about use their websites, click on "job openings" or "career opportunities" or whatever their link says and do the lookin' yerself?

Oh, and could someone go pick me up a winning lotto ticket?

well I don't mean to be cruel, but c'mon!!! If you aren't able to search the sites yourself, thats just sad. It'd have been different if it was "I'm seeing an opening at KXXX and I'm thinking of applying, can anyone provide input or assistance with networking"?

Everyone wants everyone else to do all their work for them.
*sigh*

Actually, asking here on RI is probably a better idea. The website programming job postings in a market like Dallas are there for EEO reasons only.

Especially cbs. They are the worst. Just look how many times per year they put up all the same postings. I don't know why EOE exists because it doesn't help people, just gives false hopes.

You know, sadly, that is true. I was thinking about how it usually works....the job is yours but we have to post it, interview others, etc etc...before we can officially announce it. People go through the motions of interviewing candidates for only one reason, to have it on file to show that they looked at various applicants for any EOE challenge. In most cases, by the time any of these openings are made public, the replacement is already long secured. The time to apply is all the time and to keep a rapport going with the PD or whomever is doing the hiring. And if they say you are not what they are looking for, ask them what they are looking for and how you can adapt to that and improve to the point they would consider you. Come back and demonstrate that you have and see what happens. WHEN an opening comes up, perhaps they'll have YOU in mind already. No one will say it on the record, but THAT is the way it works.

RadioChic, I agree with Steve. This business is not at all about what you know... it's who you know. It's a shame, but how many times have you heard a narcissistic PD or a smarmy morning show host say regarding the board op position, "Any monkey can do that job."

Yeah, it seemed the request was a short cut, but then again, aren't they all? ;)

so watch your back... ;)

Sad thing is, most times.... any trained chimp will do, since we're working
for peanuts and handouts anyway.
