Several openings available at WCOD-WCIB-WRZE-WXTK Cape Cod:

WCOD: AM Drive for Hot AC. Possible music director duties included. (Women 25-54 #1 rated)
WXTK: Part time news (with possible eventual full time)
Or, the perfect person who can do ALL of the above....

Also, we need:
WCOD: Part time on-air announcers (Hot AC)
WCIB: Part time on-air announcers (Classic Hits)
Or, a perfect person who can do shifts on both stations...

You really don't have to answer but is Chase gone? I thought he was/is good.
 
It seems like Qantum is choking COD to death.
Chase & Cheryl were great in the morning... GONE!
Gregg Cassidy was a seasoned, experienced, quality PD who (from what I hear) cared a lot about his staff... GONE!

Joe Rosetti has been on in the mornings since Chase & Cheryl left. He just ISN'T a morning guy. Doesn't sound good there.

COD was a high-quality station 2 weeks ago. Let's hope the slip doesn't continue under Qantum's hands.

Seriously that was a good morning team on par with much bigger markets yet totally geared to The Cape. Rossetti does kick butt in the afternoon. He has a good high energy style, unusual for a hot AC, but he sounds great. I haven't heard him in the morning. As a whole, COD's staff sounds like one you'd want to out of your way to keep.

I just saw that allaccess posting, myself. Chase and I were friends when we both worked in Denver. He worked for Greg Cassidy @ KALC. Anybody on the Providence board talk to him at all?

c'mon, you guys shouldnt read too deep into any of this. I'm certain the decisions not to keep the folks you mentioned may have had a lot to do with the fact that they made a lot of money, and their jobs were already filled in Qantum.

and remember, eyes are everywhere. cassidy and chase did a lot of Qantum bashing and negative posting on these boards, and werent smart enough to know that many employees of Qantum post here. That may have been a fatal blow as well.

but I have to disagree with the Joe Rosetti comment about him kicking butt in the afternoons. perhaps some folks enjoyed it, but, and this is hard to explain in writing, he has an oldies delivery that often he cant separate between doing mornings on the oldies channel then flipping to COD in the afts. He's a good jock, adapts well, but needs to focus on one format so he can improve his delivery. i'm sure the COD morning gig is a temp thing - they've posted a job search for a new morning guy/gal - but Rossetti actually would be perfect for mornings on Cool 102. He knows his music, posts tight, runs a good board, and relates much better to the older demo.

That was my point. One week... and look what's happened already...
 
Well, I should have expected these comments and I appreciate the defense.
Yes, our goals were to choke WCOD. Makes sense, choke a station WE OWN. Duh.
I'm also guessing that none of you geniuses who have commented actually sent us a RESUME' for the job opening either. Because that is what this thread is for. (LOL)

By the way, HUGE thanks to people like Greg, Ricky and especially the legendary Joe Rosetti who have helped out during this challenging transition!

Actually Steve I think most of the responses were kinda complimentary to the people involved & there's nothing wrong with that. Only a couple seem to have come from people with some inside Cape radio knowledge. I know some types of responses can be infuriating at times but with all due respect I think you're generalizing & mistaking the motives of some respondents. Then again I know the negative comments can always be the ones that stick out.

and I certainly can appreciate that and was only directing my comments at the generalizers of "choking" of COD, and those who have jumped to the wrong conclusions. With the LOL it was meant to be tongue in cheek. In this case, I was trying to use this website as a tool to offer a few job opportunities. It's always a laugh to see what it turns into.

I know what you're saying about threads turning into other topics. Stream of consciousness always seem to rule on all these boards.
 
Sorry if my comments offended you. The openings post sparked the "have left" thought in my head. I also never said Qantum was PURPOSELY choking out COD. That wouldn't make sense. I was just pointing out the IMMEDIATE effect of the take-over; something that hasn't been discussed on this board. Good luck with the new stations in tow. And best of luck to the remaining (and especially the former) COD staffers.

C'Mon you guys! We've all been through change-overs. How many management changes had Boch gone through before this? And each time there were staff changes for whatever reasons. Sometimes people are let go, sometimes people leave of their own choosing. I once stayed on through a bumpy change-over at another company with one other jock and a parttimer because everyone else quit. We kept the station going by ourselves for 2 weeks before the papers were even signed! Joe and Rick deserve high praise for what they are doing to keep 'COD going. 'COD is a great station. Who wouldn't want the opportunity to work there?

It is nice that hothitsdx takes the time to post the openings on here for all to see. Isn't that what this board is for , Helping to make better radio for all?
