I've heard this guy who goes by Bass Fisher doing Saturday nights on KIX106 across the hall from me. He's pretty good...quick, funny, runs a tight board, interacts well w/ the callers. Somebody should snap him up for a fulltime gig.

Hey Karson, thanks for the post. Michelle Michals here. I do afternoon traffic at 88.5 WQOX and also voice track the midday show there from 10-3. I am definitely looking to get into commercial radio. I have been off on winter break but will be back on soon. I will send you a demo and resume soon. I would love to talk to you more my email is [email protected].

what does it pay? you didn't say. I would love to work on that morning show and add a little flavor to the soup. Help break the "monotoney" mold. I can only work monday til thursday cause of my main gig. Are you serious about young talent.

Rapmaster, you said:

"what does it pay? you didn't say."

The pay for part-time staff is determined by experience which is a private matter that will be diuscussed during the interview process.

You also said:

"I would love to work on that morning show and add a little flavor to the soup. Help break the "monotoney" mold. I can only work monday til thursday cause of my main gig"

I think that you are implying that my show is boring, which would be a new tactic in the art of job hunting. Hey Mr. PD, I think your show is bland and I can't be there every day. When do I start? ;D

And finally you said:

"Are you serious about young talent."

I don't believe I ever mentioned young talent in my original post for the openings.

Anyone that has emailed me a demo, please don't think I have been ignoring you. My computer was having issues playing audio and our IT fixed the problem today. I will repsond to anyone that emailed me by the end of the week.

Wow!
Part time for George Flinn's media empire!
What a great opportunity.
When you're not on the air, you can be putting campaign signs in yards for George or Shea.
And the pay has to be at least minimum wage.

However... I don't recall hearing of the FME conducting annual October firings because they weren't meeting stockholder expectations.

Does this gig also include the "Morning Updates" on Sports 56 to take Peter Edminston's place? I understand they've been accepting demo tapes for that....even played a few on the air.

As I understand it, the Karson and Kennedy show is highly rated. I've also heard by people that Flinn ain't a bad company to work for. Flinn Broadcasting has certainly expanded over the years but is not a huge media empire either. I believe we should have more local media outlets. I think radio would be better that way.

PS Rapmaster...it's called Spell Check. A really nifty invention!

certainly but the laws that ensured that were changed years ago and now we have just a handful of groups that own most of the stations and do not cater to the local scene much.

Did someone just call a poster out for spelling. If I had a nickel for every post I've read about someone's spelling I'd have way too many nickels. Don't you miss the Ross Clarke Circle, K?

It was sarcasm. You probably don't know what that is, so don't worry about it.

Actually, my new bride is from Dothan so we get back there every once in a while. But to answer your question, the town is a little slow for my liking but I met some wonderful people and three turds. ;D
