Sorry if I wasn't very clear on all of that. KMNY-1360 is still owned by MRBI (Multi-Cultural Radio Broadcasting Inc,) along with KDFT-540. MRBI leases out their daytime hours (6AM-7PM Mon-Fri and 6AM-6PM Sat/Sun) to BizRadio. The remaining hours (nights) *WERE* leased to a Spanish outfit by MRBI. The Spanish outfit is who dropped out of their lease agreement. There is a talk network in the process of signing up for those hours the Spanish outfit had...and separate from that, BizRadio is looking for their own station to buy (and how this figures into the earlier threads about them buying KTON-940 in Belton and moving it to Lancaster, I don't know.) BizRadio's contract is up on March 1. If they don't have a new station purchased by then, they'll probably go on a month-to-month arrangement with MRBI and stay on 1360. BizRadio has already purchased a station in Houston to replace their LMA relationship with MRBI's KXYZ-1320, and will begin broadcasting there Feb 1 (actually in advance of the closing of the deal; to be on a temporary LMA until the papers are signed.)
So, if BizRadio relinquishes their LMA arrangement with MRBI in Dallas, the talk format wants to lease the entire broadcast day. If that happens, "Hi-Fi Club" is out, as there won't be an open timeslot available.
But there's no contract signed with the talker at this moment, so "Hi-Fi" may be able to go three hours on Sunday nights until that happens, likely in mid-January. When they sign, we'll go one hour on Sunday nights instead (6-7PM.) If BizRadio stays, that will be our regular schedule as long as they are leasing their time. Our deal is through MRBI and not BizRadio, despite Ray's and my relationship with BizRadio in the past.
And it appears that, until the talker signs, the old Spanish network will still run as filler on overnights...although there's no relationship left there.
