Hey all,

I don't listen to Opie and Anthony...

But I've been hearing stories from WPLJ listeners, and on the Big Show itself, on how they occasionally call on their listeners to interrupt PLJ events and the like.

Does anyone know how this all started? Are they generally steamed at something the station did, or are they just doing it for 'rating shock value?' Wasn't sure if this thread should go here, or in another section, so feel free to move it

Yes. This all started back when they were listening to Howard Stern and decided to copy him.

I thought some 7 foot wrestler was gonna start chokeslamming people until I realized it was Scott and Todd.

I think - not sure - that Scott and Todd had some goofing on O&A and they took it personal, as usual. So they sent their pests out to do their bidding.

Nah, they talked about how "pulled back" Scott looked and how Todd was a yuckster.
 
Speaking of O&A... did I hear they were doing a movie festival at Roseland? God I hope not, I wouldn't want to think they ripped off yet another idea from Howard who held his own staff made film festival about a year ago. I know O&A wouldn't rip off Howard. They hate everything he does... don't they?

Howard Zombies,

I have been listening to O and A since they were on afternoon drive on WAAF 107.3 FM Worcestor, Ma(Former A.R.S. now Entercom) This is the FIRST station that O and A did thier show together on. They Sounded NOTHING like Stern. They had very original and edgy bits that Stern did nothing even similar. I was there, I listened, I heard. I used to listen to Stern on morning drive on WBCN 104.1 FM Boston (Infinity/CBS) and Howards show was COMPLETELY different than O and A's.

Just because someone does something funny and edgy on the radio does not mean that Howard Stern did it first. If they copied everything from Howard then howcome they got fired for doing things, and Howard Didn't? If they copy him wouldnt he have done the same things that got them fired?
 
I think you may be taking the "copied" statements a little too literally...

...anyway, I think Anthony joined Opey on WBAB-FM on Long Island before they got to Worcester.
