Opie and Anthony on Letterman Thurs.

Anyone catch it?
The duo seems to be doing well lately. More and more
stations are picking up their show. Not a fan personally, but I
am impressed with their success.
It will be interesting to see how Fall Boston numbers
will be.
And some predicted that once they went to XM,
that would be last we would hear of them, unless we subscribed.
Well now look at them. And how is Mr. Stern doing?

Opie and Anthony need to stop spending whole shows (at least on FM anyway) complaining or complementing themselves. They didn't need to spend major part of today's show talking about their appearance on Letterman.

Bring back Rick Delgato, showprep, bits, and alcohol in the studio. Jim Norton's quick wit is the crutch they rely on now, as he's in everyday (or some other comic is).

The worst XM era thing they do is pay extra attention to the "pest" and certain message boards and Paltalk. They're making money off Paltalk and claim they get nothing from it, despite ads on their site for it. Put up a free cam, you cheap bastards! They really have become the Howard they hate; the one that bilks the fans for every penny he can.

Still, I'm listening, so they must be doing something right, no?

In listening to Opie as Anthony off and on since they've been back on the air in Boston... I really don't think they are as entertaining as their hype. Does anyone agree?

Opie and Anthony are strong, but I'm doubting their ability to impact a national audience, the way they're being expected to.

From listening to the show, I always think of Opie as being the stronger person, but Anthony came across as the leader, with Opie being a sidekick. Anyone else feel that way?

They are relying way too much on their reputation. OH We did this or We did that and we got kicked off the air for this and we got this guy fired for that. Thats the past guys... Make some more history... You got CBS by the balls now

The obscure O&A boards that I read agree with you sir.

Yes they do need to do some more outrageous stuff, at this point though I'd settle for an Anthony impression or two.

IMO: O&A are best when they are interview celebrities. Often going well beond the standard "Watch my movie/buy my album" plugs while still being very funny. If he is, Jim Norton should be on every morning.

First off, you don't have to pay for Paltalk. There is a free camera version, but it's the equivilant to the old Stinky Cam they had at WNEW, which was also free. You can pay for upgraded visual camera quality.

Yeah, I'm not overly impressed by the show. I think they're simply filling the vacuum created by Sterm in the wake of DLR. I hope they make their money quickly before people get sick of the poor man's Stern bit ...

Welcome LFV! Nice to see another O&A / XM fan here.

My two cent's on O&A....while only on 3 hours a day they seem to have made quite an impact so far, and i think that they are just gaining momentum before they unleash the old o&a. I don't think they will revert to t & a radio, but still push the envelope with the wink wink style that they do (or did) oh so well. I still think they are owrth listening to every time i hop in my car, and i enjoy the bits that go so far overboard that they ring the "innapropriate" bell. Either way, good for them for wokring out a killer deal between xm and cbs, but now it's time for them to step up to the plate and really show what they are made of. that's what i think....."do ya?" as jim norton would say.
