Being the smartass that I am, and the all-knowing person that people claim I am. I am giving all my little kiddies in radio-wannabeland a little heads up and first notice.

My sources have told me, and let me tell you. My sources are Never wrong. CBS has completely dropped the ball over at the sinking WCK-Gwhiz. In an email from top brass, the O&A show will slowly be pulled off the air from WCK-Gwhiz. This action continues to stem from bad management and horrible programming skills. The station has been in turmoil since the departure of Howard Stern last year and continues to spiral downward in bad ratings. The "landmark" afternoon air personality known as Steve Dahl who has been at the station since the middle 90's continues to bad mouth management and their choice for replacements on the station, however, Steve Dahl himself has un-successfully been able to pull a book where he is in the top 10, and his afternoon billings have decreased over the passed 10 years. Yet, he has the nerve to ridicule other personalities on his station. You would think that he would want the station to succeed, unless he knows something I don’t, which is not the case. I know all!

With that said folks, watch for a severe format change to occur at CKGwhiz in the next few months. And remember your friendly neighborhood gossip guru DJ told you first!

From what I hear, Steve Dahl is even cranky with his neighbors at his place in New Buffalo!

Every time I hear stories such as these, I think of all the times Steve and Gerry made fun of the old timers on the radio at the time such as Wally Phillips and John Mallow. Once during one of their adolescent tirades, Steve remarked whether or not they will ever become a cliche. Well folks, he is there.
 
Does anyone remember the time that Larry Lujack invaded the Steve and Gary show, apparently intent on doing bodily harm to Steve, who fled, leaving Lujack on the air alone? I don't remember why, but I do remember that

I remember when I used to enjoy Steve bashing Wally Phillips and my mother (a Wally fan) told me one day Steve would be the old dog who older folks listen to only out of habit and the up and comers would bash as useless and befuddled. I guess Mom was right.
 
gee, whatever happened to the fine art of cultivating local talent. Go find the next Stern already. Give someone talented, fresh and new a chance.
 
Hire Mancow. I know, hes sux. But he pulled numbers at 101 and maybe he will shut Steve Dull up when he actually brings a book for CKG

Well, let the sales guys take it over and turn it into a "paid programming" format. Hell, they do it on the weekends anyway.
 
Garry's MOFO BRO' here.Has the Taliban taken over Chicago radio/internet media?I've been recently banned from Steve Dahl's forum section on his webpage.WLUP recently fired Kara from there station for making comment's about the radio business there.I tried to add some humor to most of my post's,mostly in response to subject's that other people started.I also posted on other topic's other than my bro'.I complained to there web adm. about my post's being censored I recieved no response until I complained about it online.Then Steve replied that I was not being censored I was being ignored because my post's were repetative,tired and just not that clever!I was unaware that there were "HUMOR POLICE" monitoring all post's!My last post that did not get posted before I was banned/censored er..I mean ignored was.."Steve sorry if I've offened any of the following,1)Denny Green fan's,2)Kim Jong Il fan's,3)Dixie Chick's fan's,4)SUV driver's!I went to my doctor today and got a prescription for some "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS PILL'S" and I will start taking them a.s.a.p. and maybe they will help me from making post's that are "TOO OUT THERE!"My post name was GORT now it's labeled as Anonymous.I was also banned from the Howard Stern fan club website,as was everyone else who posted anything about Steve and Garry.I can see the newspaper headline's now,"SHOCK JOCK FAN SHOCK'S SHOCK JOCK'S!!!"that is of course if it doesn't get censored!

Is this true about CKG? can anyone actually offer CONFIRMATION?. I doubt it at all given that they just signed O and A on there and the Free Fm experiment in most markets is being looked at as a two year minimum experiment. I think this is Hogwash!.
 
O&A DO NOT have a multi year deal with CBS. They are on a month to month contingency based on performance. So far they are not meeting expections of the Chicago bosses. People in Chicago are loyal to an extent when it comes to personalities on the radio. Remember the Bob and Tom fiasco? That was a nighmare for CBS. Who in Chicago wants to hear a couple of rednex from Indiana? Apparently no one!

Same is true about to idiots from New York. These guys do not know anything. They are competely stupid and their topics are boring. Chicago is too smart for that crap. People will go woth change as long as it is worthwhile.

CKG is done. Steve Dahl better learn how to speak spanish Quick. Good thing he keeps taking trips to Mexico. CBS is going to flip the format to NEWS or spanish.

WELl let's not get your OPINION confused with FACT, and everything that you have posted is your opinion, no facts. That being said I know that O and A are not on what you have described as essentially a tenant at will, it wouldnt happen. Opie would not do tat just to get back on Fm and their agent Bob Eatman (also Mancow's guy) would not have negotiated such a deal it is not advantageous to the talent given that radio on a month to month basis would not allow them time to build an audience. however as you have seen with Rover it does not really matter even IF you do have a multi year deal which he does. IF they want to make the move they do it, there is a definate climate of wanting results yesterday since Howard left which is irrational for so many reasons. EVen HOWARD did not become HOWARD overnight, he had much more time to establish himself than they have given at least two of his successors. In other words I dont buy any of your theory because it makes no sense and it is also colored by your obvious dislike of O and A.
 
Ok Kid let me school you. O&A have been off the air for over 2 years. CBS gave them a chance to redeem themselves by negotiating a deal for mornings after Stern. Neither O nor A or their hack agent have the bidding power to tell ANYONE what they will or will not do in the industry. And to answer your question that O would not agree to the terms to get back on radio is bunk!

They both were so desperate to get back on the air they would have worked a Krispy Kream drive thru just so they could be heard over the speakers.

Now, to answer your other comment. O an A have been in the industry for well over 12 years. They have a listening market, just Not in Chicago. CBS tried them about 6 years ago here and failed miserably. I will repeat myself again! Chicago will not put up with long distant talent. We tore Johnny B a new hole for lying to us, and we booted Rover, although he sucked totally, Bob and Tom made it 2 months, and the list goes on.

Now, before any of you start slamming me, which I love because I am right. People will put up with News and Fact. All your news and political talk will remain. It’s the “shock” jock or “zoo” that we will not put up with. Chicago is too smart for that.

So, in closing. O and A are out. They are not on a multi year deal or even a yearly deal. They are on a contingency bases. They were expected to perform immediately, not “down the road” Rover knew he was the middle man when he came here. CBS told him that. CBS had bigger plans than Rover. They thought O and A could pull Chicago but were wrong.

It is also a fact that certain CKG bosses informed CBS NY that O and A would not pull numbers and that they needed local talent. NY sucks. They do not have a clue.

Remember I said this here on Radio-Info.com. Mancow is in the talks on a deal right now to put him back on mornings in Chicago. Any guesses where? I know. Your gonna like this one!

Oh and Tower, get your facts together before butting heads with me kid. Mancow has a new agent, and it’s not Eatman. Eatman is probably the Worst agent in the industry bar none. And that’s not me saying that. He has no pull and works low class.

So, there ya go folks. How do I all of this? I work for CBS programming!
