Opie and Anthony returning to WYSP Monday morning?

If you look up Kidd Chris on Wikipedia, at the bottom of the page it says that CBS radio announced that Opie and Anthony would replace Chris on Monday May 19th. Does anyone know if this is true. I can't find this info anywhere, and I know you can't always believe everything you read on Wikipedia

I really doubt that this is true. If it was, you would see it in the DN and Inquirer. YSP would be making the biggest mistake in the history of the station if they bring this talk show back. YSP is a rock station, not a talk station. Its time for this station to play music in morning drive and stop airing talk.

And....they should play tons and loads of new and old rock not the same tired out Nirvann, Zep, RHCP, Floyd, for gods sake with all the rock music out there its the same old tired tunes over and over is it something with CBS same with OGL worn out tired top 100.....bring on hair metal, hard rock, grunge, in their hayday with DeBella 96 era they were the best.....

I was just checking out Angelo Cataldi's Wikipedia page, and it reads that his WIP morning show will be simulcast on WYSP starting Monday. Hmmmm...

i guarantee that neither O&A nor WIP will be on YSP tomorrow morning. and please, God, do not let f'ing Barsky get the job. that man must have made a deal with the devil, have compromising pics of radio execs or know where the proverbial bodies are buried. he has failed at, um, eight? different stations and still manages to land prime gigs. dear Lord, let there be a new, normal person who knows what they're doing and doesn't resort to inane toilet humor. That line made me LMAO and ROFL. Good job, sir.

As for the Mea Culpa thing - it really didn't work when K-Rock flipped from talk to music. A lot of people were annoyed because of the exclusive Ron and Fez content that was on 92.3 Free FM.

I think the goal is:

2 weeks of music, no jock.

O&A return first week of June.

Kidd Chris was sort of a friend of the O&A show. So I don't think O&A will rely much on trashing WYSP or anything.

I heard, as of late (and knowing that O&A were none too pleased that they were being replaced by Chris), Kidd Chris has aligned himself with Stern, so a) KC going to Howard 101 seems plausible and 2) if true, the boys will be pounding their chests. It should be a good listen to XM202 in the coming weeks (especially today). If its going down, I will hear subtle references.

If the rumors are true (which I doubt) then I don't understand it.

It didn't work the last time O&A were here in the morning which was what? Last year?

So why pull up a sinking ship from the water, only to sink it again?

Remember, O &A weren't getting ratings here, or just about anywhere they were on in the morning.

And if you factor in the early 2000's, when they were on in the afternoon until they got fired for that sex in a church stunt, this would be the THIRD time they'd be back on the same station in the same market! Has Barsky ever had three gigs on one station?

They made no bones about this Cook character deciding their fate in Philly on his own. It seemed like the popular thing to do. O&A did make mention of it, they still consider Chris a "friend" (despite talking to perhaps Stern to go to Sirius) and said they would love to come back to Philly and that "talks wer being held to work something out".

This does take into account something I have said before, that being it would be nice to let the boys return to XM full time, but their recent deal with CBS will prevent that for the near future. That being said, it is a watered-down version of what they used to do at 'NEW. Too many lawyers involved now. But... I don't really think there's any other alternative. Barsky? Puh-LEEEEEEEEEEEEZE! As talentless as they come! How he continues to get gigs is beyond me. Albeit those gigs only last mere months, he must have one helluvan agent to get him a deal, he tanks after a few shows, then gets paid to sit on his fat ass until his non-compete runs out (or gets a lump sum payment). I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!
