Opining of a trucker

I am a radio listener. Age 50 and making more money than every before in my life. Am I a member or the "money demographic"?

I was looking to listen to something I enjoy and have found a hole in the Seattle / Tacoma market. I do most enjoy talk radio as it makes me use my mind. I surely enjoyed KQBZ the last few years from Lionel to my favorite "The Mens Room" with Miles and Thrill. I tried to listen to them this afternoon and found every time I tuned 99.9 there was music playing. Music of which I do not enjoy listening. So I tuned into another regular talk station discussing, of course, politics.

Darn!!!!

Sure wish we could get a fulltime "Hot Talk" station going in Seattle again.

Re: Opinion of a Marketing Manager

Maybe its just the holiday break with Rivers, Dave, Dori, B. Suites, and others being on vacation.... but I've been noticing this the past few days as well. I stopped listening to BJ & Tom a while back (could you talk about the exact same thing more?) but have really been noticing the lack of non-political (pure entertainment) talk. I was never a die hard Buzz listener (since the "radio for guys switch)....but atleast it was there when I wanted it, and I miss it now.

I also can't figure what I hate more, terrible fill-in hosts (ala KIRO) or re-runs of topics that were discussed 3 months ago (ala KVI).

From one truck driver to another... I'm 42, I listen to the radio on average about 12 hours a day. I decided to buy Sirius so that I could follow Howard Stern. It's turned out to be money well spent. There are about 15 music stations with deep play lists that play what I like to hear, mainly classic rock and alterative. I've heard songs in the past month that I haven't heard in ten years on the radio. There's an NFL station with non-stop football talk. Jim Bruer has a show on the comedy channel that comes on at noon that's pretty damn funny. All this plus Howard. I still listen to terrestrial radio from time to time, mostly for local news and traffic, but for the most part I don't miss it at all. Believe me, I was very hesitant to spend money on a radio subscription. But I figure I spend about $50 a month to watch about 2 hours a day of cable TV... so what the Hell.

Re: Opinion of a Marketing Manager

I just like listening to talk. Not talk with music mixed in. I was definitely not a die-hard
BUZZ only listener but do miss it as a choice if only for a few minutes for a short ride.

The programs I enjoyed the most were the “Northwest Auto Show” 6-8 Sat. mornings with Tom Turner and Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers on NPR.

Maybe I need to go the satellite route but I do not spend on TV as we use only an aerial antenna. I am cheap and like free. I got married on Feb. 29 so I only have to buy an anniversary present once every four years.

Bring Back Entertainment Talk!!!!!
I am Pro Chioce when it comes to radio.
I want a whold bunch of talk choices.
