Opinions: In a market such as Providence

Just curious as to what people think about this. In a market such as Providence is it more important to be known well by the audience or potential audience or by those in the business?

I say it's more important careerwise to be known by those in the business unless you're such a high-profile & marketable personality that you're a household name. Very few are ever going to get to that place so with the current state of radio I say being known by insiders is more beneficial careerwise.

It's more important to be known by audiences if you want to sell hot tubs.

And if you're on a weight loss program even if you're gone it's like you never left.
But Phred's can be phickle.

dont forget the 80's hit, 867-5309 GEM Plumbing! ;D

HJY Paul and Al!! Great talents! Providence will never get that quality of talent again. :'( As far as the rest of the market...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Just an opinion.

Sorry to get off topic. In a market such as Providence as well as elsewhere, it is better to be known by those you work with. Yes, the public may be able to identify with the personality, but the reality is: it is who you know.

Sometimes it's who you know that gets you canned too.

Quite true. A lesson learned, but remember what goes around comes around.
