Opinions of Regent Communications

Was just hoping to get opinions of Regent. How they operate their stations, quality wise. How they treat their people. Are they good broadcasters or just another company that is destroying radio by voicetracking and all that nonsense. Thanks folks!

Regent is by far a different culture than any other Broadcaster that I have had any experience with. They are exceptional and value each person. They can be favorably compared to the former Susquehanna group. Truly a fine broadcast group!

Well I know of at least three former full time people from WGNA that might dispute that assessment....

It's never about the company, it's about the people working at the location where you work. There are good bosses and bad bosses. Co-workers you like and ones who are like a cancer on the morale in the building.

It's in the eye of the beholder too. The people who have the ability and succeed within a company may have a more favorable view of that company than the lesser talent who work just enough to get by and are bitter when they get passed over or shown the door.

When are all the albany broadcasting stations in albany ny going hd with hd 2 channels?

Knowing someone who has worked with Regent, according tho this person they give off the impression that they care about their people, but unless you are part of the "clique" you are an "outsider." They apparently treat some people well, but they are part of that inner circle: Sean and Richie, Glen Stacey, AJ, Trudy, Mrozek, Jeff Levack, etc. who are all basically kiss-a** to the higher-ups and all remain there. This from second-hand knowledge of someone who works there. That's their opinion.

Isn't AJ long gone from Regent? Didn't he get the boot when Chuck and Kelly came over?....Mrozek never struck me as a kiss-as*, either.....

As far as differences between this broadcaster and that broadcaster....there really is none; they will get as much as they can from each employee while giving back as little as possible....all of which can be said for any industry. There's at least one a**hole at every job, radio is no different....RADIO just pays a LOT less
