Opinions on the Radio Racket?

What do you think? They've been on for half a year now and I'd like to know what people who are not involved in the show think.

Overall I like it. Good interviews with some big names in radio. The listener calls drone and and on and tend to be a real snoozefest. The calls need to be shorter. I also wish they didn't feel the need to do their technical work on-air sometimes. Like Stern, they are at their best when they are talking about radio or busting on someone in the biz.

Opinions from those of you who are not involved? Not a bash fest or, as they call it, [EDIT], but honest opinions. If you're not involved, your opinions would make for some interesting reading.

Well?

I totally agree about the phone calls, some just go on and on and on and on. I already posted a positive opinion about the show on another couple of threads. One thing, if they could can the cursing, I think they would have a good shot at being picked up by at least a local station.

Thanks for the comments folks, and I hope to see more of them!

We're working on putting together a great line-up of guests for the month of December, the first of which we announced on last week's show.

Gregg Henson, PD & morning show host at Sportstalk 950, will be joining us 'live' in studio on December 1st! We'll fill you in on the other guests when we get them confirmed.

I'd really like to see a podcast of the show, so that those of us with MP3 players can listen on the go, wherever we like, without being tied to the PC.

Obviously since you can stream the show whenever you like, there is an MP3 file. All they need is an RSS feed.

George and Kyle do a great job with the show. Now that I've heard The Tirade in its' entirety, I enjoy it even more.

I would also echo the call for the podcasts. My one criticism would also be the calls -- I don't think they add to the show in most cases, but recognize their purpose and also why it's so difficult to get consistently good calls to put on. With a podcast version I could skip a few regular callers who I don't enjoy.

I'm not sure how this would be done, but it would be cool if there was a sort of "repeat schedule" so that you'd know when to tune in for the start of the show (or you could figure out where you're coming into the show). It'd be tough since the end time is fluid, but it would be cool for those of us who listen on the repeats.

Seriously though...it's a great show and I look forward to what's coming in the future. It's really a testament to the show that they're able to get not only some radio legends, but columnists and even sitting PDs to come on. Well done, sirs.

George and Kyle have a great rapport. I personally couldn't care much for Roscoe, though.
