Opportunity?

With resurgence and deveopments this year in the AC format, it's too bad one of the other players in the market don't see the hole that's developed. With "Fresh" and now "My" formats, Mix 92.9 is very vulnerable and would be forced to choose a direction.

They are trying to stradle the fence between the "new" AC formats playing 90's and newer, and the old school AC relying on 70's and 80's.

By letting them have both hills, they are reaping benefits that could be going to someone else. Wake up Clear Channel, Cumulus, Cromwell, Citadel! Don't you see it?

You would force South Central to defend a hill, then you take the other one. Both types of AC formats would do well in this market. Why let SCC have both? They have been fat and spoiled for too long.

Why have a bottom feeder station when you could instantly be a market player, and at the same time bring Mix down into the pack. That would make the honcos at SCC lose lots of sleep and the place would probably implode from the second guessing.

SCC has been lucky up to this point that no one else in the market wants to make any waves, and are content to remain status quo...Hopefully that will change.

New York, Philadelphia, and now L.A. are all seeing great results...It could happen here too. That would be fun to see...

I agree with most of what you said, unfortunately, I think clear channel is the only company in town that could do it,..Cumulus? nope tried & failed with Star 97, V-102.5? nope..bad signal, and limited resources..although their new billboards are an improvment

We tried the "fresh favorite" imaging at Q-108 back in 1986. Still we played the same AC standards: Billy Joel, Seals & Crofts, Elton John...you know, the same artists you see on the same MixLightBreezeCool billboards in every major market. Don't tell Mix 92.9 that Lionel Richie's "Hello" and Rupert Holmes "Escape" are around 25 years past charting. Got to keep it fresh.
