Exactly what happened: KLSY was formerly on 107.9, then the KGHO translator that was on 107.3 in Ocean Shores went up to 107.9. KANY moved from 93.7 to 107.3 (remember the "Birds" stunt?) and the KLSY calls then went to 93.7, where it is now Spanish religion. Again, I suppose that station hardly gets any listeners...is it ever in the PPM?

It's listener supported by regular fund-raising. PPMs don't matter.

As BossBill says, the station does not need to subscribe to the PPM. However, Nielsen makes available at no cost PPM encoders for all stations that are home to a market and for a minimal cost to those that are not home but wish to be measured. Being a subscriber is nota requirement.

The logic in encoding even when not subscribed is that we also want a true measure of all radio usage for the benefit of the industry.

Good luck to Mr. Davis. I do remember hearing him at KBKW, then KXRO. Many great broadcasters came
through the Harbor. Too many to list. I enjoyed my years there, but it was a little to wet and cloudy for me. I can think of several people that would be great for you. Randy Rhoads is one that comes to mind...I know he's in Wenatchee. It will be tough for anyone to come in after Rhys. Charlie Mitchell (Frank White), where are you?
RIP Richard D. Good luck in your search!!

David, I have 2 questions for you on this,
1. If you add up the shares of all stations in Seattle, it comes up to about 91% or so. Looking at that, how do we know for sure that about 8% of the population doesn't regularly listen to the radio, or are shares always supposed to add up to 100% because of the total amount of radio listening? Also, do all stations elligable for the no-cost encoder have one?
