Oprah, Discovery forming new cable channel

Oprah will have her own channel, called OWN, The Oprah Winfrey Network, in a joint venture with Discovery Networks. This new channel will apparently replace the Discovery Health channel when it debuts. According to CNBC, it will be available in 70 million homes.

The article didn't say what would become of the current shows airing on Discovery Health now.

Guess this brings Oprah's media journey full-circle, as she's done almost everything else....

Based on the success of Oprah's new network, she plans to create a second cable network geared towards the computer geek crowd: PWN. ;D
