OPRAH'S OWN WANTS MORE $$$ FROM CABLE & SATELLITE

The OWN network wants triple the money the exiting Discovery Health channel got
from cable and satellite systems. OWN wants 21 cents a month per subscriber. Some
are waiting till their current contract expires to negotiate with OWN.

Saw this coming. For a network that hasn't even proven their worth, I hope most operators pass.

As far as a bridal-themed cable channel, Rainbow Media (owners of aMC, IFC, and sundance channel, to name a few) already beat her to it, as of August 18th, 2009. (Though I have no idea what cable or satellite systems it's on, if any at all.)

It's mostly pregnancy, birth, and baby shows right now
