Optimad help

Hi all:

I have a contract station that uses a 2200. I haven't had to do anything to this unit for the year that I've been here.

Recently, I've had 2 problems. Last week it decided to change modes to "mono R". Then last night during a storm it decided to change to "mono L" and not pass audio (I had to reset power to the unit to bring it back).

Anyone have any ideas? I think that I'm going to put it on a UPS to see if that helps.

Thanks

A UPS would help for the future, but it sounds like one of your chips may have already gotten cooked.

Did you talk to Orban support? They're pretty helpful.

I had a flaky 8100A that switched modes like that. In my case, placing a remote closure across the Stereo Mode Select contacts solved the immediate problem until it could be freed up for repairs...Assuming that the 2200 has such a closure, that's one route to consider.

Yeah, I've never heard that one before... Optimud yes, but Optimad is a new one on me... and I like it!

Talk about a Freudian Slip LOL.
