Optimod 8100 Lesson

Not sure the problem is so much with the XT chassis as it is with the power supply running very very hot (as opposed to just very hot).
 
You will need to do the resistor mod, without it the power supply does go in to current limit with the xt2 connected

Looking at the XT2 manual it says the resistors are .62 ohms, but the color code says (blue, red, gold, gold) 6.2 ohms? Is this a misprint in the manual.

There is a misprint. The correct value is 0.62 ohms. As another poster said, without the resistor modification, the power supply will go into current limiting with the XT2 connected. Fortunately, the power supply was designed with plenty of headroom, so increasing the current draw does not cause problems once the current limit sensor resistor's value is changed.
