Those are some powerfully true words. Put BBP on New York, Range & Power at 100, Speed at 13 & Final Drive at -3.6 and punch the buttons on the Bose Wave Radio & listen to it blow Omnia 6's & Orban 8500's out of the water. It really, honestly is that good. Can't wait for the standalone BBP product. I just can't tell my clients it's time to let a desktop computer & software do the mission critical processing job no matter how good it sounds. When the rack mounted dedicated BBP arrives (and I understand it is still active), the processing world is going to look a wee bit different.Tom Wells said:Especially if you've ever demoed Breakaway Broadcast. You really can afford 1 second of delay to sound so good for so little.
Nice sound, I like it. And yes, by all means, please customize the "New York" preset so it's not as loud all the time. It's literally pushing Breakaway very close to the max. Even if it's not distorting at all at "stock" settings, it's still ... more than my personal preference finds most enjoyable even if I'm going for a "balls to the wall" sound. It's there because it had to be done.BobOnTheJob said:Put BBP on New York, Range & Power at 100, Speed at 13 & Final Drive at -3.6 and punch the buttons on the Bose Wave Radio & listen to it blow Omnia 6's & Orban 8500's out of the water. And of course it'll still rely on standardized hardware (in function), but you'll get the awesome support that comes with such a device too. You probably *could* swap out something like the mainboard in it, if you were in a jam and the industrial-grade mainboard in it failed (not likely for a good 30-50 years, and i wouldn't be surprised to see century old models running, like... if i live to be 140 years old, lol) and you couldn't quite wait for an overnight box. It's just another option to have with the Breakaway box, one that could turn a silent night into minutes... and more options = good.BobOnTheJob said:Can't wait for the standalone BBP product. Leif's hardware box is very much still active. Not even considering the audio itself, the box has a LOT to offer that nothing else does yet. It's going to twist a few heads, without a doubt.
