Optimod 8300 vs 8400 vs 8400 Signature vs 8500

Here we go again. ::) But it had to be done.

1. Given no budget limit, which would you choose: 8300 / 8400 / 8400 Signature / 8500
2. Why?

With no budget limit, I would go with 8500. Why? Because it has much more capable hardware that
I expect further algorithm releases will take advantage of, lower latency, more powerful HD processing, most flexibility... Don't forget a nicer LCD screen ;) (just kidding) Also, the new algorithms that will be developed will be for 8500. I don't expect we will see any new software releases for 8400...

If budget is an issue, I would go with 8300. With v2.0 in 8300, it doubt anybody will be able to tell the difference between 8300/8400/8500 on-air, with the same preset used...

In any case, I wouldn't buy 8400 anymore.

With an unlimited budget, i would devellop my own broadcast processor ;D
Pc and linux based with low latency.

The future holds no restrictions for the platform, it may be a bunch of dsp's, but i could also be a bunch of Power processors from motorola or even plain intels.
Dedicated platforms, like the 8x00 will disapear.

personally i would buy the 8500, because it has a kinky touch screen ::)
