Orban 5300 presets

Hey!

Great messageboard you have here!
Just wondering if someone have some Orban 5300 presets to share.
Please let me know!

Thanks!

Marcel

Hi,

The Orban is at my home studio and I'm playing with it just for fun.
If I do need to chose a format, some CHR and Rock orrientated presets would be nice.

Grtz

Whaha..
Yes I know.. Orban/Omnia seems to be more populated at our homes instead of running at radio stations...

At least if you meant that ?

Yes, that's what I meant... And there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that, the way I see it, that processors "wants" to be on-air ;) It's designed to create the "magic" on a continuous and unpredictable content of radio programming. That is where its strength lies - on a long term listening and making the radio seamless, yet exciting.

I'm rambling... But the Netherlands market fascinates me. I can conclude three things. Possibly all wrong, but:

1) The Netherlands has a LOT of people who like to listen FM processing.

2) The salaries in Netherlands are very high, when individuals can afford to buy broadcast processors (some of these processors cost like a brand new small car).

3) The processing dealers in Netherlands are very happy because they can sell a lot of units!

Take my post with a grain of salt... I'm probably just jealous :D

Hi Goran,

In spite that he is running in my rack at home he certainly is on air most of the time.
I put it on-air with a little exciter for local use only, and just enjoys the magic sounds of it.
Sometimes I also use it as an very expensive A/D converter to record my program for the local station, of course I use it only as a leveler at that time. ;D

For about the three conclusions you draw, it's a little different in my place.

The Orban I buyed were an occasion so that brings a more friendly price with it.
I fact most of us just buys occasions I think. There are some big pirate stations who buy a new one.. Most of the time it comes back on the market after a couple of months for nice prices.

Also about the price and an new little car .. Keep in mind that new cars are more expensive here in the Netherlands, and also driving them costs you an Orban 2200 a year! ;)

Hope to meet you this year on the famous Dutch Processing Day!

Grtz,

Marcel

P.s. sorry for my bad English

Start with shopping through the factory presets. Find your favorite, then tune it with LESS-MORE. Finally, fine-tune it with Advanced Control, which you must do with PC Remote. In addition to making it as easy as possible to get the sound you want, this procedure moves you through a "journey of discovery" that trains your ear in gentle stages.

I recommend that you read Section 3 of the manual in particular, as this explains all of the operating controls.

Offcourse you're all welcome at the dutch processing day... :)
We have great new plans which should make it a true happening. ;)

Offcourse there will be plenty of meatballs and lots of cold beer so everyone can enjoy the state of the art processing!

More info following soon!

Hello Mr. Orban,

Me and my friends have always been very impressed by the Orban products.
It will sound really stupid for the most here on the board, but I need to say I'm very pleased of having Mr. Orban himzelf posting a reply on my topic.
So many thanks for that!

I realy agree with the way you discribe of approaching the best results for a nice preset, but I also need to say I made some good results by starting from a "bypass" look a like preset, whitch I've done with some of the product from omnia. Fact is that the Orban 5300 has a lot more controls to set, so it's a lot more difficult to go from scratch.

Anyway, the reason of looking around for presets is just because I'm curios about whitch kind of presets people use for different formats.

Also need to say that I'm very positive about the manual. The explanations on the controls are very clear and easy to understand.

Grtz,

Marcel

@goran

I think a hobby can go as far as you wish. This has nothing to do with high salaries. I think the salaries ( with subdacted tax ) in the states are much higher then here in the Netherlands.
It's remains a choice, buying a second hand car or drivetesting your soundprocessor behind your own desk.
Let's call us freaks ;-)

I think the Netherlands is soo processing minded since we all have been radiopirates in the past or some still are.
The highest amount of radiopirates can be found here in the low country and so you'll find a similar amount of processing freaks there as well.

Regards,

E.
