Orban 6200 question

Yet another Orban question. Can you make the output of the Optimod 6200 variable. These are now fixed at about +14dBU. I was told there was a software update to controll the output of the 6200.

I assume you mean the analog audio (monitor) output and not the composite out, right?

There may be a software control for it, but from what I remember when I had my 6200 DAB I don't believe there is. Of course, this may be dependent on the software revision of the unit.

I know when I had one for my webstream I had to temporarily use the analog outputs to feed the streaming encoder until I received the digital input card. Since I couldn't find the control for the analog output so I ended up using a Henry Matchbox II until I switched to the digital output.

I'd be surprised if 6200 doesn't have analog output level control. I don't have one at hand to check. But even if it didn't, that's something that's not hard for them to code. I assume you already contacted someone from Orban support?

@Bill. Yes I mean the analog outputs. The digital AES/EBU output is controllable via the menu.

@Goran. Nice wink, I'll give it a try. I read and heard about a special software version with analog output control.

By the way, the new 6300 has analog output control and pre and de-emphasis settings (for a DAB processor).
