Orban 8218 Stereo generator strange "peep" in the sound

Just bought an Orban 8218 stereo generator. After installing it on a test transmitter (DB Broadcast PM type) I noticed a "peep" in the audio. Switching to mono will also kill the "peep", so it is piloottoon related I guess. This happends on both composite outputs. Lowering the pilottoon or the composite level will not solve this problem.
Since the 8218 has almost no adjustment points I am clueless. Anyone a solution?

Kind regards,

Martijn

Can you switch the mpx output to floating? that might help alot.
In most cases it is externally created ( switching supply or whatever ).

The problem could be coming from the transmitter. Early Harris digit exciters are known for developing high pitched squeals that are audible when the pilot is applied due to failing electrolytic capacitors. Try another generator first to compare and rule this generator out.

Solved the problem. A cappacitor at the MPX input what "gone dead". I found out it was not the 8218 after hooking up an Orban 2200 and a Unity 2000i and notice the same problems.
Many thanks for all your suggestions.

Sorry, forget to mention it was a capacitor in my transmitters exceiter PCB which had gone bad. Replacment solved the problem. So no 8218, 2200 or Unity 2000i problem in the end.
