Orban 9000 Prices?

I've been considering getting a regular processor this time instead of another PC-1100 card, this is for a talk format station so it doesn't need to be very fancy. I was hoping to find something for less than $1000 or thereabouts (PC-1100 is about $1300)

What is the market price for a used Orban Optimod 9000?

You don't want one. The 9000 has many irreplaceable chips. If one dies, it is a boatanchor unless you bastardise another.

Look for CRL gear on Ebay. Sounds good and is cheap (and the newer stuff IS still supported). The older stuff has common parts and there are so many around its easy to mix and match

Optimod 9000 or 9100 are AM processors and output bandwidth is too low for a talk format if you'not on AM. PC-1100 is really a good choice and perfect for talk. A used Optimod 9000 is rarely under $1000 when not recapped.

I've got a couple C300's used in a streaming/podcast mastering application, each set up as a stereo gate/expander and multiband limiter. Within the limitations of its processing presets, it's fine for that, and the price is certainly right. Plus, TC makes pretty good sounding stuff. But, it's clearly not intended to be used as a broadcast processor. It lacks 50/75 us pre-emphasis processing, and there's no brick wall limiter section. I'd stick with the Orban PC-1100, which has real broadcast functionality at a very modest price.

Hey that looks pretty cool but I don't see an AGC.
