O'Reilly Starts Petition To Get Olbermann Canceled

I think a petition should be started to have O'Reilly booted off this planet, without benefit of a space suit.

If memory serves me right, didn't Bill-O claim to have damaged the Dixie Chicks' career?

What a whiney loser.

It's OK for O'Reilly to toss his on-air grenades to anyone he wants, but when he's on the other side of the criticism and ridicule, he cries foul. Now that he has a viable competitor, he can't take it. It's clearer than crystal his attacks are now on the personal level. What's he gonna do next? Send "Fox Security" over to the NBC News studios?

What a loser. I hope he keeps it up and winds up on the receiving end of a lawsuit from his accusations.

As demonstrated by that "Inside Edition" video that got out last week, he has a few loose screws.

O'Reilly is mad because he believes he is lord and emperor, and his opinion is the only one that anyone should be allowed to believe. Keith is rightfully calling him out on it.

MSNBC has given Keith carte blanche license to continue calling him out. As a result of this feud (and the Special Comments), Keith has been given two specials on the main NBC network. O'Reilly has been given none on the Fox network.

Being honest gets you places (network specials). Lying and having loose screws gets you nowhere (sexual harrasment suits).

A petition? You've got to be kidding me. I'm sure MSNBC will immediately drop Countdown because a bunch of Fox fans sign a petition against them.

From what I remember about a few radio wars I've been through, you never mention the competition unless they are beating you. If you are #1, you don't talk about anyone else.

I like Olberman. The man is well spoken, informed, and is capable of asking a question and allowing an answer. Countdown also seems to try and keep things on a more intellectual level where O'Rielly looks for the sensational angle or story.

When I do see 0'Rielly he generally interrupts his guests answers if they differ from his point of view. Sometimes he reminds me of one of those toadies from the Howard Stern show that gets in peoples faces and asks absurd questions.

O'Rielly, a constant reminder that Darwin was right.

I guess another reason why we can give extra intellect points to Countdown is the fact that they don't have to rely on a nightly "B-roll of boobs" salacious story every night like O'Reilly does.

Olbermann is one of those people who whines until he gets what he wants...then keeps whining. He blew gigs in sports and news because he found them both 'boring'(or maybe he was only interested in whichever one was paying better).
He has burned so many bridges with previous employers(especially ESPN), he should be charged with arson.
As for his 'more intellectual approach'...this is the guy who routinely uses preschool-level insults when referring to O'Reilly.('He's THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD!') The latter, meanwhile, won't even mention Olbermann by name...for good reason.

Few know that Keith has maintained a side gig color commentating the Old Timers' Day game at Yankee Stadium - at least he has been the last few years.

O'Reilly is a bombastic blowhard who uses innuendo, half-truths and outright lies in his daily diatribes. KO rejoices in pointing out Billo's faux pas. Nothing at all wrong with that. Shows Fox for the bottom-feeding organization that it is.

Bill Orrally is a blowhard. I'd like to see him live up to the posturing and challenge Keith to a UFC rules match 'cause Keith would accept. Just like BillO to hide behind paper when it comes time to man up.

Stewy, helping to save the democracy ;D

Olbermann goes out of his way to be offensive and often doesn't know what he is talking about. I've never understood why critics think he is "witty," "urbane" or "clever"--I see none of that in his work. He was an OK sports guy but is way out of his element in news or trying to interview anyone.

The headline about O'Reilly starting a petition to get rid of Olbermann is not exactly accurate. Yes, O'Reilly started a petition--but the original intent was to get Phil Donahue back on the air. He thought MSNBC dumped Donahue way too soon. O'Reilly has long admired Donahue, which is why he wanted him brought back.

When someone takes a slap at a competitor's children, he deserves scorn and ridicule. He's getting off easy. If Olbermann or anyone else said that about my children, I'd make sure the bastard suffered.

Bill O'Reilly, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews need to go away and never be heard from again.
I turn the channel everytime I see one of them is on.

Well, KO could have issued an on-air challenge like Billo but he has too much class to do something so juvenile. Billo, on the other hand......well lets just say he never really got past the 8th grade.

Right on man! I was recently criticized in this forum for having complained about some of their antics (primarily the feud between O'Reilly and Olbermann).

This is supposed to be the media! All they do now is air THEIR dirty laundry. And then we're supposed to believe the news they report to us when it's like a circus behind the scenes?

Bill O'Reilly has no right to ask for the resignation of a competitor. Likewise, I hate when he, Olbermann and Abrams complain about each other on the air. It's not only unprofessional but it devalues their reputation and final product. Just report the news for cripes-sakes! This is getting out of hand.

BO and KO are a couple of world class ego maniacs whose idea of communication is making noises with the face. Each spends more and more time bashing the other, and neither really knows whar he is actually saying--but they are saying SOMETHING so they assume they must be uttering something worthwhile. It's all just so much BS. Such is what MSNBC and Fox reaped when they hired two zero percentage hitters in the attempt to grab ratings points.

oldschooltv and nuzguy,

As posted earlier in this thread neither Billo or Olby are "news guys". They comment on current news stories and provide opinions but they are not talking heads reading script off the teleprompter. Unfortunately, Billo is a bit lax with his facts and frequently bumbles and stumbles into absurd situations making him look like the complete idiot he is. Olby delights in pointing out Billo's foibles but that is far and away the minority of his show. KO's primary task is to publicize miscues by a wide variety of our elected and public officials. Something he is very good at.

As opposed to Billo and the "comedian" Limbaugh, KO always sources his comments. The other two clowns offer nothing but opinion, and not well thought out opinion at that.
