Fox News isn't now, and has never been, interested in reputation, only ratings and revenue. Unfortunately, O'Reilly has delivered both, so like Limbaugh and Stern, were stuck with him.

What I don't get (and never have) is Geraldo. This is a network interested in reputation???? NOT.

Hey, he was good enough for ABC! Reputation? It's not just Fox but the whole cable news genre. Isn't it painfully obvious that they are all in an anything-goes fight-to-the-death battle for viewers? The O'Reilly Factor? Hardball? Who comes up with this crap? The words "Cable News" and "Reputation" go together like "tabloid" and "quality".

So was O'Reilly. He worked for CBS as well.

I've never understood the appeal of O'Reilly. Unlike many in the biz, I don't believe having extreme opinions is enough, at least in the long run. Rush at his best (which he still sometimes is) has the gift of holding you spellbound with his wit, charm and charisma, even you think he's full of beans. O'Reilly has none of the above.

Like I said, I just don't get it...
