Orgy season before x-mas this year !

Tuned in WHRB for classical music today and heard something else.
So went to HRBs website.
To adapt to Harvard's new academic calendar, and hold true to the WHRB tradition of holding Orgy Period during exams, this year our Winter Orgy Season will take place from December 1st through the 22nd. There will also be highlighted Orgies and special programing taking place in January as well.

What's wrong with this? I'm not that familiar with the station, but from what little I read, it does give listeners a taste of different forms of music that is not heard on commercial radio, like Southern Bluegrass, Folk, Jazz, Memphis Blues, etc. This should be exciting for listeners to be exposed to the music of East Tennessee.

Nothing wrong with it.
The orgy season usually starts Jan 2/3.
They made a switch this year.

WHRB is an all-volunteer station staffed by Harvard students.

Harvard University, as part of a seemingly endless cycle of reorganization that started with Lawrence Summers' presidency several years ago, decided to change the academic calendar of Harvard College. Until this year, reading and exam period for the fall semester began after the Christmas break, with spring semester starting in early February. WHRB's Orgy® period, which evolved as a way to make staffing the station easier during reading and exam period, naturally fell in January.

But this year Harvard College adopted a new calendar. Reading and exam period fall in December, while in January Harvard College will not be in session, and most students will not be allowed to stay in residence so the university can save the expense of housing and feeding them. The radio station therefore is doing its winter Orgy® period in December, while in January it will be largely automated as it is in the summer months.

Spring Orgy® period will also shift slightly, as Harvard's commencement is moving back into May from its usual June date.

interesting. they could perhaps reduce output power, and run the studio in the dark too.

how about an orgy consisting of one track each from these artists. surely the spartan dungeons students are hiding out in while banned from their normal habitations have suitable editing facilities

Why should they? The university's finances have nothing to do with the radio station. WHRB holds its own license and pays for rent and power at One Financial Center out of its own pocket. Harvard University doesn't contribute a dime.
